PROJECT OVERVIEW
About: University Bites is a food delivery service aimed at bridging the gap between UTK students and dining services on campus. With a click of a button, students can download the UBites app and connect to food options, including dining halls and campus restaurants. This will allow students to order food without the hassle of needing to leave their location. Meal plans and dining dollars are accepted forms of payment, as are any credit card. Students will choose their desired food service and have their fresh meals delivered anywhere on campus and select locations off-campus for a small fee. Or, if time is available, students can pick up their to-go order for free. With the recent pandemic, having food delivered to your room is a stress reliever or keeping from dining with many people. UBites users will be relieved knowing the food will be reliable and safe.
PURPOSE
Students in college have hectic schedules. Between having to spend hours studying every night, or not having a car to access food, to anything else that might make life harder for them. University Bites was invented to make college students lives easier by providing them an easy way to find all of the dining options nearby with the ability for meals to be delivered right to the student. UBites is there to help relieve stress including features designed to benefit the student.
RESEARCH & INTERVIEWS
Contextual inquiry interviews were conducted to understand users' behaviors and interactions, helping shape design decisions and requirements. This helped me gain better insight into what, why, and when a user completes a process.
USER PERSONAS
From the information gathered from the interviews, I generated user personas that best represented the general candidate who would be using this interface.
Based on my findings, I established the primary aspects of the user's motivation and needs.
USER MOTIVATIONS
-
Convenience
-
Saves time
-
Ease and accessibility
-
Variety and choices
USER NEEDS
-
Meal modifications for personal preference
-
Accurate and up-to-date information
-
Affordable prices and low delivery fees
-
Easy navigation and simple design

USER REQUIREMENTS
The data collected was analyzed and compared to find the most common requirements that users needed. From there, I could define a summary of the need, the details of the need, and the rationale behind why this should be a requirement.
The user requirements that were found most necessary were:
-
Users need to be able to track their orders after placing them.
-
Users need a section for dining halls, allowing them to order pickup or delivery.
-
Users need to be able to modify meals.
AFFINITY DIAGRAM
During the contextual inquiry stage in the design process, interviews of potential users were conducted to gather information and data to develop the requirements that are needed in the application. From the interviews, I was able to establish the user's wants and needs that they require for this application.

SITEMAP
This site map is a visual representation that shows the organizational layout and structure of the application. It shows the flow and how pages are connected.
WIREFRAMES
I started my wireframes by creating a digital outline that helps visualize the application's structure.
